Adinkra symbols were designed by the Akan people in Cote d’lvoire and Ghana during the 1800’s. These symbols were designed to carry wisdom from person to person, generation to generation, without words. They can also be found in textiles, logos, and pottery. They express deeply symbolic proverbs related to life, death, wisdom, and human behavior.
